Under UAE Federal Law No. 5 of 2012 (Cybercrime Law), recording any communication without consent of all parties constitutes a criminal offence. DALIL ensures explicit consent is obtained before every session.
Before any audio or video session begins, all participants are presented with a clear consent banner explaining recording purpose, storage duration, and access controls. The session cannot start until both parties respond.
(a) Consent to recording — session proceeds with recording active; (b) Decline recording — session proceeds without recording; (c) Cancel — session is cancelled.
All consent responses (accept, decline, or cancel) are logged in the tamper-evident audit trail with timestamps, session ID, and participant identifiers.
When recording is active, a persistent red recording indicator is displayed to all participants throughout the session. There is no silent or hidden recording.
